The Cheraw Gazette says: "We regret to learn that Col. D. S. Harllee died at his residence in Marlboro District on Monday last. Col. Harllee was for many years a prominent citizen and merchant of this place. He was for several years commissioner in equity for Cheraw district. Since he declined mercantile persuits he studied law. For the last three years he has resided on his plantation in Marlboro, devoting much of his time to agricultural pursuits. He was highly esteemed and will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends and relations, who are left to mourn his loss.
