Mrs Ethel M Townsend

Bennettsville--Mrs Ethel Moore Townsend, 83, died in the Dundee Nursing Home Saturday.

Mrs Townsend was the widow of C E Townsend, Sr and was born in Marlboro County. She was the daughter of the late James Duncan and Mary Flowers Moore.

Services will be today at 3pm in the Whitner Funeral Home with burial in McColl Cemetery.

Surviving are six sons, Charles E Townsend Jr. of Bennettsville, Alexander D and James D Townsend of Dillon; Robert M Townsend of Roanake, Va., John A Townsend of Lumberton, NC., and the Rev David K Townsend of Okinawa; three daughters, Mrs Doris T Dial of Bennettsville, Mrs Alice P Terrell of Nashville, Tenn., and Mrs Carolyn T Lawson of Virginia Beach, Va; a half-brother, James Moore of Pueblo, Colo; two half-sisters, Mrs Vivian Moore of Bennettsville and Miss Margaret Moore of Raleigh, NC.
