I ELIZA D. BRIDGES of said County and State, being weak in body but of sound mind and memory, and being desirous of disposing of my property, do make the following as my last will and testament hereby revoking and anulling all former wills by me made-
I will and direct that my Executors hereinafter named shall as soon as practicable after my death sell all my personal property and with the proceeds pay any just debts I may owe - and use the balance of the proceeds in placing a suitable monument or tombstone over the graves of myself and my deceased husband W. D. BRIDGES and in enclosing our grave in the best manner possible.
I will and devise to THOMAS MURPHY who has been a faithful servant to me, in consideration of his services, Sixty acres of my land to be laid off to him in the South East corner of my tract, to him and his heirs and assigns forever.
I will and devise to WILLIAM WISE fifty acres of my land to him and his heirs and assigns forever - to be laid off to him as to embrace and include my dwelling house and appurtenances.
I will and direct that my Executors shall as soon as practicable after my death, call to their assistance a competent surveyor and lay off to THOMAS MURPHY and to WILLIAM WISE their respective tracts, to be in such shape and form as they may see fit, and when so shaped and laid off by my Executors, same are to be the bounds. I also will and direct that THOMAS MURPHY shall have a suitable and convenient right of way, where my Executors may think best from his land to the neighborhood road leading by my lands.
After the above tracts are laid off then I direct that my Executors shall divide the balance and remainder of my lands into four equal tracts, reference being had to value as well as quantity.
I will and devise one of these four tracts to MARY ANN STRICKLAND, her heirs and assigns forever - she being the daughter of DORCAS ODOM my half sister. I will and devise one of these four tracts to the children of MARY FRASIER deceased - the child or children of one of her deceased children taking the part of his or her or their parent. I will and devise another of these four tracts to the children of my half sister BETSY WISE deceased, the child or children of one of her deceased children taking the part of his or her or their parent. The fourth and other tract I will and devise unto MARY WISE and ROBERT TERREL to them and their heirs and assigns forever. And I hereby direct that my executors shall determine by lot or otherwise as they may deem fair and impartial, which of the four tracts - shall go to MARY A. STRICKLAND, which to the FRASIERS, which to the WISES and which to the TERRELLS, and their designation shall be final. I also will and direct that my said Executors shall also have full power to fix and locate such right-of-way over any of the tracts for the benefit of any of the tracts, as in their judgment may be proper.
I hereby constitute and appoint JOHN R. WEBSTER and DUNCAN D. MCCOLL Executors of this my last will and testament. Witness my hand and seal this twenty-fourth day of November 1883.
