In the name of God Amen.
I WILLIAM EVANS of South Carolina in the County of Marlborough being Very Sick & Weak but of perfect mind & Memory, thanks be given unto God; Calling unto the Mortality of my body & knowing that it is appointed for all men Once to die, do make & Ordain this my last Will and Testament; that is to Say Principally & First of All, I give & Recommend my Soul into the Hand of Almighty God that gave it & my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be Buried in a decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall Receive the same again By the Mighty Power of God & as Touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to Bless me in this life, I give demise & Dispose of the Same in the following Manner & Form

First. it is my Will & do order that all my Just debts & Funeral Charges be paid & satisfied.

Secondly. I give & bequeath unto my Beloved Wife ELIZABETH one third part of all my landed property to her & her heirs forever to be laid out at the Discretion of my Executors.

Thirdly. I give & bequeath unto my well beloved Son JOHN ALEXANDER EVANS the remaining Two thirds of all my lands to Him and his heirs forever. Also two negroe boys Named MOSES and NERO.

Fourthly. It is my desire that all the Remainder of my personal property be Equally divided Between my well Beloved Wife ELIZABETH & my five children Viz. JOHN ALEXANDER , CATHERINE, LUCY, ELIZABETH, & ELIANOR EVANS at the Discretion of my Executors provided at the Said Division my said wife ELIZABETH & Son JOHN ALEXANDER to Allow their proportional part of all the money that I am now Indebted for my lands to the Loan Office with legal Interest thereon until paid.

I likewise Constitute Appoint & Ordain my Beloved wife ELIZABETH Executrix my Beloved Son JOHN ALEXANDER my Beloved Brothers DANIEL & GEORGE EVANS, THOMAS & JESSE VINING & THOMAS EVANS Executors of this my last Will and Testament & I do Utterly disallow Revoke & Disannul all & every Other form or Testament Wills Legacies & Executors by me in any ways before this time Named Willed &etc. Bequeathed Ratifying Confirming this & no other my last Will & Testament.

In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Fourth day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand and Seven Hundred & Ninety Four & in the Eighteenth year of American Independence.

Signed Sealed published pronounced & Declared by the said WILLIAMS EVANS as his last Will & Testament in his Presence and in the presence of each other have Hereunto subscribed Our Names.
