THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA MARLBOROUGH DISTRICT
My last Will & Testament made this twenty first day of February in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred & Eighteen Witnefseth---
That it is my desire and wish to dispose of my property and Estate in the way and manner herein after mentioned-----
Item 1st… That is to say. I give unto my Wife Sarah Hodges all my household and kitchen furniture my Riding Chair & Harnefs my Sorrel Horse known by the name Sorry & the one half of my Stock of Cattles.
Item 2nd.. I give unto my Nephew William Samuel Whitifield son of George B. Whitifield four negroes as follows Santee, Bill, Offner, & Peter to him and his heirs forever----
Item 3rd.. I give unto my Neice Emelia Elizabeth Whitifield daughter of the aforesaid
George B. Whitifield Three negroes as follows, Hannah, July, & Solomon, to her and her heirs forever---
Item 4th… I give unto my step Father William Whitifield my little Baul Horse and Sorrel Colt for the use & behoof of the said Wm. Whitifield forever---
Item 5th.. I give unto my half brother George B. Whitifield the other half of my stock of cattle, all my stock of Hogs my Riflegun, my Black Baul Horse, my Bay Mare and it is my desire that the said George B. Whitifield should receive all debts due me & appropriate them to paymentof my debts and that he the said George B.Whitifield do make sale of all Surplus corn and other property not mentioned aforesaid for the payment of my debts and if there should remain any money after the aforesaid payments I give it unto the aforesaid George B. Whitifield property in this Item for his use forever----
Item 6th. It is furthermore my desire that GEO. B. Whitifield, James R. Ervin & R. Carlofs should be my Executors & that all the aforesaid Items be carried into effect.
