Sarah and Mary Ann McGill to Henry L. McGill
Know all men these presents that we, Sarah and Mary Ann McGill of the
state
and district aforesaid for and in consideration of the natural affection
which we have for our nephew Henry L. McGill as well as the sum five
dollars
to us in hand paid by him the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged
as well
as a reasonable support which our nephew is to furnish us during our
natural
lives and also the use and priviledge of the premises here in released
to be
retained by us during our natural lives.
We have for those and various other reasons to us satisfactory thought
proper
and do by these presents for the consideration above mentioned grant
bargain
and release unto the said Henry L. McGill all that tract or parcel
of land
situate and being in the district of Anderson and state of So. Ca.
on the
waters of big Generostee have such shape and form as are represented
in a
plat made by James Gilmer on the 29th Jan. 1841 for 240 acres the part
herein
conveyed contained one hundred and forty two acres the extent of said
plat
bounded north by William Jones and Adam Stewart west by lands belonging
to
Peter Brown south George Stevenson and Mary S. McGill east by Willima
Jones
land containing as above stated one hundred and forty two acres be
the same
more or less together with all and singular the right members here
(ditament
?) and (appurtences ?) there unto belonging to have and to hold the
same
after our decease forever and we do here by warrant and defend the
same to
him and his heirs from our selves and our heirs or from all and every
person
claiming the same or any part there of Providing always that he on
his part
performs faithfully during our natural lives the conditions herein
specified
in witness whereof we have unto set our hands and affixed our seals
this 26th
day of November domini One Thousand Eight Hundred and fifty Nine and
in the
Eighty Fourth of the Soverignty of Independence of the United State
of
America.
