Thomas Riley married a sister of Mary Jenkins Connell.

Been looking at your post for the Riley Jenkins families. I think that Thomas Riley did not marry a Jenkins daughter of Author and Elizabeth Jenkins but is a grandson of Elizabeth from a previous Parker husband.

Elizabeth's daughter Mary Parker married Miles Riley Jr born ca 1852 the son of Miles Riley Sr and the widow of Thomas Weekly nee unknown to me. William Weekly born 1741 age nine at time of marriage

Miles and Mary produced male sons Thomas, Owen and Miles III all of which are mentioned in Elizabeth Jenkins will along with sons Joseph Parker, Ashley Jenkins and son in law Miles Riley.

My wife's GGG grandfather Jesse Riley was born 1820 in Barnwell County with only two Riley families listed in the 1820 Barnwell County census. Thomas and Owen owned Fiddle Pond Plantation and had 41 slaves. Thomas 22 and Owen 19. Thomas is dead before 1830 and Owen died in 1930.

Miles III had a son in Beaufort County in 1818 and moved to Barnwell to late for the 1820 census but in time to be elected or appointed Sheriff of Barnwell for the period 1820 - 1826 and maybe longer. His brother Owen

Was Sheriff when he died in office 1830.

Miles III son, George Owen Riley was Sheriff of Barnwell 1837 to 1841 when he also died in office.

Can anyone help me document any of the foregoing and document Jesse being the son of Thomas Riley?

Jesse is listed in the 1850 Barnwell census as Jepse Riley age 30 with wife Martha Blume and Children Marry and William. The family moved to Florida 1852/53 with an additional child born in SC. settled in a part of Columbia County which became Suwannee County in 1858
