• Ebenezer Park of Florence

  This neighborhood park has a large picnic area plus a variety of sports facilities. It is a popular spot for birthday parties. Across the street is the entrance to the Florence Rail Trail.

• Florence Rail Trail and connections

  This is a popular place for walkers and runners in a residential neighborhood of Florence, South Carolina. Bicycling is also permitted here. Across the street from Ebenezer Park is the trail's main parking area. From there, a paved rail-trail runs east for about a mile and a half. Past the end of the rail-trail is a series of unpaved trails that run through the woods.

• Florence Veterans Park

  Conveniently located next to the Florence Civic Center, near the junction of I-20 and I-95, this park pays tribute to the men and women who served in America's military.

• Freedom Florence Recreation Complex

  Operated by the City of Florence, this recreation facility offers a range of activities. A variety of ball fields and a gymnasium will be found here, including automated batting cages and a gymnastics facility. You will also find a number of hiking and off-road bicycling trails. A small pond offers opportunities for fishing and relaxing. Numerous picnic tables with shelters and grills are located throughout the park.

• Jeffries Creek Nature Park

  Located in a very upscale neighborhood, this park has a number of wonderful hiking trails and a picnic shelter. It protects some valuable wetlands in the Pee Dee area.

• Lucas Park

  Located in a nice upscale neighborhood of Florence, Lucas Park offers a pleasant landscape of trees, gardens and nature trails. You can also find here the Wilkinson Tennis Courts, a picnic area and a “toddler friendly” playground.

• Lynches River County Park

  Located on Lynches River in the Pee Dee region, this recreation area features a river swamp with very large cypress trees as well as sandhills offering a wide variety of vegetation. Popular activities include river fishing, canoeing, hiking, and picnicking. Several trails run through the park. During the summer, the Splash Pad is a great way to cool off. The Canopy Walk allows you to walk among the trees.

• McLeod Park

  This 48-acre recreational park in suburban Florence, known as David H. McLeod Park, offers nature trails, picnic areas, tennis courts, a volleyball court, baseball diamonds, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, a skateboard facility, and a playground. You can find a scenic pond here as well.

• Timmonsville Rail-Trail

  The town of Timmonsville now has a nice bike path running down along Main Street where the railroad once ran. It is very attractive, even if it only runs for a few blocks.

• Timrod Park and Florence Museum

  This large recreation complex is located along a creek in one of the older neighborhoods in the city of Florence. The park features include lighted tennis courts, picnic areas, a picnic shelter, a gazebo, gardens, interpretive nature trails, and two fitness courses. The historic one-room school building where Henry Timrod taught is preserved here, as well as an old steam locomotive built in 1917 by Vulcan Iron Works.

• Woods Bay State Park and Woods Bay Heritage Preserve

  Visit these two adjacent recreation areas to see and learn about the mysterious natural phenomena known as the Carolina Bays. Hiking trails and boardwalks lead you around the bay, where you will find plenty of interesting plants and animals. In addition, there is a nature center building with a number of displays and park rangers to assist you and to inform you. More than eighty bird species have been surveyed here.

  Note that Woods Bay State Park was once known as the “Woods Bay State Natural Area”.
