You will find some excellent lakeside hiking trails, picnic areas, and campsites in this state park, which was once known as the “Sadlers Creek State Recreation Area”. A large picnic pavillion overlooking Lake Hartwell can be rented out for group functions. Wildlife observation and fishing are popular here, with several species of bass, bream, crappie, catfish, and trout available.

How to Get There

  • Take I-85 to exit #11 and go east on SC #24 for 8.5 kilometers (5.3 miles), then turn right and go south on SC #187 for 11.6 km. (7.2 mi.). Turn right onto road #741, which leads into the state park.
