Irene R Snipes--teacher in Marion

Marion---Services for Irene Rogers Snipes, will be held at 2pm Monday at Richardson-Miles Funeral Home, with burial in Spring Branch Southern Methodist Church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church or the cemetery.

Mrs Snipes, wife of the late Earl Snipes, died Saturday, January 22, 1994. Born in Marion County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Walker and Georgia Jones Rogers. She was a graduate of Mary Washington College of Fredricksburg, Va., and a teacher in Marion County schools. She was a member of Spring Branch Pomona Grange, Spring Branch Demonstration club and Spring Branch Southern Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher.

Surviving are sons, Larry Snipes of Athens, Ga, and Wendell Snipes of Marion; brothers, Robert and Maurice Rogers, both of Marion; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
