Administrative Notice
Farmers' Gazette Post

State of South Carolina
Marion District

Know all men by these present:

That we, Dicey Lewis, Isaac Lewis, and Wade Grice of Marion District, and
State aforesaid, are held and firmly bound unto Edward B. Wheeler, Esquire,
Ordinary of Marion District, in the just and full sum of two thousand
dollars to be paid to the said Edward B. Wheeler, or to his successors,
Ordinaries of this District, or their certain attorney or assigns, to which
payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves and each of us, our,
and every of our heirs, executors, and administrators, for the whole, and in
the whole, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents.

Sealed with our seals and dated the 14th day of September in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-seven.

            The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above
bounden Dicey Lewis, Administratrise of all and singular the goods,
chattels, rights, and credits of Hardy Lewis, deceased, shall make a true
and perfect inventory and appraisement of all and singular the goods,
chattels, rights, and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come
into the hands, possession, or knowledge of the said Dicey Lewis; or into
the hands and possession of any other persons for her, and the same so made,
do exhibit into the Ordinary's office in Marion District in order to be
recorded on or before the first day of November next ensuing; and all the
rest and residue of the said goods, chattels, and credits, do well and truly
administer according to law; and further do make a just and true account,
calculation, and reckoning of said administration when thereunto required,
and pay the same to such person or persons as shall be entitled thereto by
law; And if it shall appear that any last Will and Testament was made by the
said deceased; and the executor or executors therein named obtain a
certificate of the probate thereof, and the same be allowed and approved by
the said Ordinary then if the said Dicey Lewis shall deliver up the said
Letters of Administration, approbation of such Testament being had and made
to the said Ordinary, then the above obligation to be void and of none
effect, or else to be and remain in full force and virtue.
