George G. Curley
Searching for the origins of my ggggrandfather, Thomas I. ANDERSON. He was born in 1773, there is a note in the family bible he was born in 83 but his tombstone says 73 and it fits with logical ages for his wife Jane KENNEDY. They were married in Abbeville District in 1801. Have researched all the records I can find on ANDERSONs moving from the VA area. Feel that his parents must have been immigrants to SC not VA. I feel that his father was either a William or Thomas or maybe a Robert. Thomas came to AL in 1818 and died in1827. He had a son, William b. 1803, who moved
with him to AL. Feel that some of the old records that I have been told resides in Charleston City. May shed some light on his parents. Have researched land records of Abbeville and am unable to find any wills, etc. listing a Thomas as
Thomas I. Maybe ships logs would prove helpful.

James died single and John married Elizabeth D'OR, d/o James Dupoid D'OR. Also, John J. Looking for info on Charles CARRERE, planter from Santo Domingue, arrived in Charleston after the slave revolt on the island. His son, Dr. Maynard Edward CARRERE m. Mary Wilkinson LEGARE, d/o Solomon and Eliza S. W. LEGARE (first cousins). Have recently proven that Charles CARRERE was the son of Jean Baptiste CARRERE, this new material disproves an old pedigree chart. My LEGARE info consists
of  25+ years of research into this line using original documents, discounting the many romantic notions of origin such as the Fludd chart. Will be happy to share my material. Martha Elizabeth PURSE, d/o William Henry PURSE and Martha Elizabeth BROTHERS married Charles Edward CARRERE. The PURSE line seems strong, but the brothers appear to have been in that part of Charleston that became Colleton County.
